Walnut Pi PicoW ESP32-S3 Development Board

The Walnut Pi PicoW is an ESP32-S3 development board in a compact form factor compatible in size with Raspberry Pi Pico W projects. It is a Walnut Pi product, not a Raspberry Pi board, and uses Espressif’s ESP32-S3 platform for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroPython, and embedded-IoT development.

Interfaces

  • 25 GPIO positions supporting ADC, PWM, UART, I2C, and SPI functions.
  • USB Type-C / USB 2.0 for power, firmware download, programming, and serial debugging.
  • Reserved UART0 debug interface, rear solder pads, and castellated edges for integration into compact assemblies.
  • Supports MicroPython development; use a USB virtual serial connection for flashing and REPL debugging.

Compatibility and Bundle Notes

  • The board’s size is compatible with Raspberry Pi Pico W-style projects, but firmware, pin mapping, and software support follow the ESP32-S3 platform.
  • Bundle1 and Bundle2 are separate package configurations. Check the selected option and current bundle image for the included header or cable accessories before checkout.
  • Use an appropriate USB Type-C data cable for programming; a charge-only cable will not provide serial access.
