External Analog Meter for Yaesu FT-857 / FT-897
This compact pointer meter connects to the external meter output on compatible Yaesu transceivers. It provides a larger at-a-glance display of the meter function selected in the radio menu, making it useful for mobile, portable and bench installations.
Supported Display Functions
The indicated function is selected by the transceiver. Depending on receive or transmit mode and the radio menu setting, the meter can display:
- Received signal level
- Relative transmit power
- ALC
- Modulation level
- SWR indication
- Supply voltage
- Discriminator center indication where supported
Compatibility and Setup
- Designed for Yaesu FT-857 and FT-897 series radios with the compatible external meter jack
- Connects to the radio's 3.5mm analog meter output
- Use the radio menu to select the receive and transmit meter functions
- Approximate enclosure size: 67 x 65 x 72mm
Refer to the transceiver manual for menu items 060 and 061 and for external meter calibration. Model revisions and connector access should be checked before installation.
Important Limitation
This product is a remote analog display driven by the transceiver's meter output. It is not a standalone RF wattmeter, SWR bridge or antenna analyzer, and it cannot measure an RF feed line independently.
