TOOLTOP IR500 / IR502 Battery Internal Resistance Tester

Handheld meter for comparative battery condition checks through simultaneous voltage and internal-resistance measurement. It uses a four-wire Kelvin method to reduce the effect of test-lead and contact resistance, making it useful for sorting and maintaining lead-acid, lithium, nickel-cadmium and alkaline batteries.

Measurement Capability

• Battery voltage range: 0.000 V to ±120 V DC.
• Internal resistance range: 0.000 mΩ to 500 Ω.
• 1 kHz AC test signal with a stated measurement speed of 3 readings per second.
• Automatic or manual range selection for voltage and resistance, plus user self-calibration and factory reset functions.

Choose the Model

• IR500: 55 x 57 mm TN black-and-white display with gray housing.
• IR502: 55 x 57 mm VA color display with red-and-black housing; the listed package includes a storage cloth bag.
• Core voltage and internal-resistance measurement functions are the same for both variants.

Operation Notes

• Connect the Kelvin clips firmly to clean battery terminals and allow the reading to stabilize before comparing cells.
• Internal resistance is a comparative indicator. Evaluate cells of the same chemistry, format and state of charge together; it does not directly determine usable capacity or safety.
• Maximum input is 120 V DC. Do not connect the tester to AC circuits or exceed its rated voltage.
• Use appropriate battery-handling protection. Avoid shorting terminals, especially on high-current packs.
