TG137 LM2596 Buck Converter with Digital Voltmeter

This adjustable step-down power module combines an LM2596 switching regulator with screw terminals, a multi-turn output adjustment and a three-digit LED voltage display. It is useful when a project requires a lower regulated DC voltage from a higher DC supply.

Key Features

  • DC 4-40V input range
  • Adjustable DC output approximately 1.25-37V
  • Typical continuous output up to 2A with appropriate airflow
  • Listed peak output up to 3A with additional cooling and suitable operating conditions
  • Three-digit LED voltmeter for checking input or output voltage
  • Multi-turn potentiometer for output-voltage adjustment
  • Screw terminals for input and output wiring

Operation

  1. Connect the higher-voltage DC source to IN+ and IN- with the correct polarity.
  2. Use the display button to check input or output voltage as supported by the board.
  3. Adjust the blue multi-turn potentiometer while monitoring the output.
  4. Confirm the output with a calibrated multimeter before connecting sensitive equipment.

Important Limits

This is a buck converter only: the input voltage must remain higher than the desired output with sufficient regulator headroom. High current, high input-to-output voltage difference or restricted airflow increases heat. Add cooling and derate the output for continuous operation.
